Privates
Requirement: 3 sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours each
Clients:
- trainee
- friend/family
- unknown/referral client
- Discuss and agree upon a specific date, time, location, payment and length of the private lesson.*
- Get a health history and personal info – such as age, profession, and interests/hobbies beforehand. Find out the client’s major illnesses, injuries, or health issues. Write this info down.
- Have your client sign a liability waiver before the session begins.**
- Ask them what their intention/goal is for the private. What are they interested in learning? Or what condition do they hope to help? If they do not give you a clear answer, prepare to teach a variety of poses (standing, folding, backbending, twisting, etc) in a well-rounded presentation.
- Ask your student to give you overall feedback only once the lesson is complete. During the practice, you can ask “how is this adjustment” or “how did you feel in that pose.”
- Encourage your client to take classes at Moksha and/or purchase additional sessions from you.
- Report back to Daren by writing a short email including the client’s feedback and your perspective on the lesson. Include the details of the lesson as mentioned in (1) above, such as name, date, time, location, and length); also include the details regarding (2) above, such as injuries and illnesses.
- Collect payment once the session is complete (collecting payment at the time of service is standard practice). You may also collect payment before the lesson starts, especially if you sell a series of lessons (buy 4 lessons and get 1 free). Let your client know a 24-hour cancellation notice is appreciated.*
*For your certification requirements there is no payment involved.
**Use Moksha’s waiver only for your three required sessions for teacher training. For future use, you may replace Moksha’s name for your own and use the same language.
