Welcome to Moksha’s online teacher-training community.
Thank you for your interest in Moksha Yoga Center’s teacher-training program. The program is a foundation for the study of the ancient art and science of yoga. The basics and fundamentals of asana, pranayama, and teaching skills will be studied. This program is designed to give you a wide variety of topics, class settings, and experiences. It involves classes with not only myself, but also with a variety of local and national teachers. We are committed to giving you the best learning experience possible. We hope you will enjoy the program.
Teaching yoga is one of my favorite things to do in my life. My dharma is defintely one of service, helping others to find and expand his/her true path. In this regard, I offer my knowledge of yoga in this teacher training program. I have completed more than twelve teacher training programs and am still hungry for more. I have traveled to India on eight occasions to study yoga, ayurveda, martial arts (Kalari-Payattu), music (tables), and yoga philosophy (Sutras), though a lifetime of study will never reveal all of the facets and perspectives that yoga has to offer. I’ve been studying yoga since 1989 and have been teaching since 1994. I’m excited to have refined what I have taught over the past several programs and hope to offer you an even better experience than before. I started Moksha Yoga Center in August 1999 – we now have 30 teachers, 35 work-study positions, six full-time staff, and thousands of students. Moksha is known as a place dedicated to yoga practice, experience, and knowledge.

Dedication
I would like to express my deepest heartfelt thanks to my parents for providing me the nurturing home, love, and freedom to develop my interests and travels; and my sisters and brother for providing so many lessons to my growth and development.
I would like to give my most incredible thanks to my first yoga teachers, Leeann Carey and Bryan Kest who gave me such inspiration, knowledge, and joy from day one. There is a special place in my heart for these teachers.
I would like to offer my gratitude and thanks to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, of Mysore, South India and Sharath, for their daily dedication and support in the 8-limbed path during my visits to India. My gratitude and thanks is also extended to Dr. Shankaranarayana of Mysore, for his luminosity of the ancient language of Sanskrit and the view of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Gratitude and thanks also goes to Dr. Murthi, Professor of Ayurveda, for his enlightening instruction on the nature of the body and its qualities.
I would also like to thank so many other teachers who have deeply influenced my practice – Tim Miller, Ana Forrest, Gary Kraftsow, Lino Miele, Sharon Gannon, David Life, Duncan Wong, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Tias Little, Gabriel Halpern, and many others.
I thank so many friends who have given me so much encouragement, love, and support. I thank the many authors of the books used to research and develop this manual. Ultimately, I am grateful to the inner guidance that directed me to this fortunate dharma.
Om Shanti
